New Delhi:  Jamia Millia Islamia organized Walk to Health today to mark World Diabetes Day. This event was held in collaboration with Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (HIMSR), Jamia Hamdard University.  Prof. Talat Ahmad Vice- Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia and Dr. G.N. Qazi, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard participated in the Walk to Health to promote awareness about Diabetes and healthy lifestyle.

Prof. Saranjit Singh Bhasin Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia and Prof. S. Dwivedi , Dean,  HIMSR conceived the event Walk to Health on World Diabetes Day following the signing of the MoU between Jamia Millia Islamia on Jamia Hamdard University on the 31st October 2015 marking the beginning of a robust academic cooperation between them.

World Diabetes Day: Walk to Health to promote awareness about Diabetes

On this occasion a Free Medical and Dental Check-Up Camp was organized at FTK- CIT, Jamia Millia Islamia for screening of Diabetes patients.  Consultants from General Surgery, General Medicine, Oral Medicine and Ophthalmology and investigations like ECG, Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure, Dental check-up were made available to Jamia students, staff, pensioners and dependents alike.


A large number of students, teachers and officials from the both the universities participated in the walk that commenced from the Vice- Chancellor’s Office and ended at the FTK-CIT, JMI.
