GST Bill: it is all set to be taken up by Lok Sabha

Needless to say, after its passage in the Lok Sabha, the Bill will go to state assemblies for ratification.

It is noted that there was much obstacles in the way for the Bill but it become a major success for the Modi government when it was passed by Rajya Sabha earlier. The  GST is aimed at bringing uniform tax regime in the country by subsuming state levies.

It is expected that under it, a single rate of GST will replace various taxes to ensure seamless transfer of goods and services.
