<span style="font-size: large;">High Commissioner of Nigeria HE Major General Chris Sunday Eze along with Lion Gaurav Gupta, President of Rajasthani Academy & Vice President of Manasvani Foundation organised a special workshop ‘Face Yoga for Diplomats’ which was taken up by International Yoga Exponent: Ms. Mansi Gulati at the High Commission of Nigeria, New Delhi.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Lion Gaurav Gupta in his welcome address thanked Ambassador of Nigeria for giving the opportunity to host this unique session in the embassy premises. He welcomed HE Ambassador of Vietnam, HE Ambassador of Rwanda, deputy Ambassador of Ghana, Panama and Mauritius. Diplomats of Burkino Faso and students of different African countries were acknowledged. Yoga exponent Mansi gulati demonstrated face yoga exercises and told its benefits for the whole body. In her speech she mentioned that Face yoga is a series of exercises that promise to do for your face what yoga does for your body: relax and tone muscles.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">The yoga session was carried out in the embassy lawn with diplomats from various nations. HE Ambassador of Nigeria expressed his happiness for such useful workshop. He even made a promise to conduct more such yoga workshops in the future. With the great vision and efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi United Nations General Assembly decided to celebrate International Yoga Day on 21st June every year from 2015 and in view of the same the Govt of India has appointed a dedicated ministry for the same in the name of AYUSH.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">This was yet another effort by Rajasthani Academy & Manasvani Foundation by joining hands with Embassy of Nigeria to take this vision further. The event was initiated with prayer dance by baby Chahat Goyal from Sirsa, Haryana which was appreciated by all. Mr Yabani & Ms Stella from Nigeria High Commission were instrumental in setting up this workshop and gave their full hearted support. The hospitality partner for the event were Kitchen Kraft, gift partners were Wondersoft & Raw Juices and the event was co managed by Crafts Buzz & Amaltas. HE Mr. Alem Woldemariam, ambassador of Eritrea,  Dean of African Missions in India who was the chief guest of the event was unfortunately unable to come and had sent his blessings and good wishes to the organisers.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">The Prime Minister said Yoga transcends the barriers of age, colour, caste, community, thought, sect, rich or poor, State, and border. He said Yoga belongs to everyone.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">New Delhi: Amid the deteriorating situation in Bihar and rising death toll in the acute encephalitis syndrome (AES) outbreak, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has termed the Ayushman Bharat scheme as a white elephant. He said that the scheme has failed the people of the country and is not practical as what is required is to strengthen our healthcare infrastructure and access for all to healthcare.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"> It is to be noted that the death toll in Bihar in the acute encephalitis syndrome (AES) outbreak has risen to 112 today, with several hundred children still admitted in Bihar hospitals battling for life. With the visuals of the suffering children playing in the media, the entire country is concerned for the children of Bihar. Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and Health Minister Satyendra Jain shared their views on the ongoing Bihar healthcare crisis. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">The Bihar crisis has raised questions on the level of preparedness and the effectiveness of health schemes being run by the Central government like Ayushman Bharat. “The Bharatiya Janata Party and their Central government ministers have been advertising the Ayushman Bharat scheme lately. Unfortunately, this crisis has proven that the scheme is a white elephant. The scheme does not provide healthcare coverage to most ordinary citizens since the eligibility requirements mandate that persons who own telephones, 2-wheelers or fridges are not covered under the scheme. Moreover, the scheme does not provide coverage for primary healthcare and Out-Patient treatment,” said Dy CM Manish Sisodia.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">“During such severe healthcare crises, it becomes clear that what people truly need is a strong network of healthcare infrastructure, not insurance schemes like Ayushman Bharat. Instead of enriching insurance companies, the government should have focused on building Mohalla Clinics, Poly Clinics, adding capacity to existing hospitals and building more hospitals. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Health Minister Satyendra Jain raised the question of why children suffering from AES in Bihar are not being treated at private hospitals under Ayushman Bharat scheme. He said, “Most of the children suffering [from AES] would have qualified under the eligibility requirements of Ayushman Bharat. Yet we find that all children are being treated at the government hospitals. What has happened to scheme in this case?” </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Government has instructed for a permanentmulti-disciplinary group of experts to be constituted at the Centre which shall draw experts from NCDC, AIIMS, ICMR, WHO, CDC, IAP, Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of Women and Child Development and also include experts in the field of meteorology, nutrition, agricultural science. The group constituted at the national level will be anchored in the Health Ministry.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">This group shall formulate recommendations for measures to be taken up in case of an outbreak and for immediate control, in addition to a long term understanding about its causes so as to prevent the cases”, Dr. Harsh Vardhan elaborated.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">In a bid to give the benefit to the skilled persons from economically underprivileged sections of the society, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has decided to remove the requirement of minimum educational qualification for driving a transport vehicle.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">The decision will help to meet the shortage ofnearly 22 lakh drivers in the transport and logistics sector, which is hindering its growth. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">However, Government has made it clear that while removing the requirement of a minimum educational qualification, they will have undergo for training and skill testing of drivers so that road safety is not compromised in any way.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Anyone applying for a driving license will have to mandatorily pass a stringent skill test. It is to be noted that Under Rule 8 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, a transport vehicle driver needs to have passed class 8. Government has initiated the process of amendment to the Rule 8 of Central Motor Vehicles 1989 and the draft notification in this regard will be issued soon.</span></div>

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">The Committee led by the Chairman Dr. Kasturirangan submitted the Draft National Educational Policy to the Union Human Resource Development Minister, Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Minister of State for HRD, Shri Sanjay Shamrao Dhotre.</span></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">The Draft National Education Policy, 2019 is built on the foundational pillars of Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability and Accountability.The Committee has proposed to rename MHRD as Ministry of Education (MoE).</span></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The Committee also recommends Extension of Right to Education Act 2009 to cover children of ages 3 to 18. A 5+3+3+4 curricular and pedagogical structure based on cognitive and socio-emotional developmental stages of children: Foundational Stage (age 3-8 yrs): 3 years of pre-primary plus Grades 1-2;  Preparatory Stage (8-11 years): Grades 3-5; Middle Stage (11-14 years): Grades 6-8;  and Secondary Stage (14-18 years): Grades 9-12. Schools will be re-organized into school complexes.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">A new apex body Rashtriya Shiksha Ayog is proposed to enable a holistic and integrated implementation of all educational initiatives and programmatic interventions, and to coordinate efforts between the Centre and States. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">It is to be noted that the extant National Policy on Education, 1986 modified in 1992 required changes to meet the contemporary and futuristic needs of our large youth population.</span></div>
