Mid Day Mel Tragedy: SDMC becomes first civic body to monitor online kitchens

New Delhi:In a bid to avoid any irregularity and mismanagement with the health of children, South Delhi Municipal Corporation has becomes first civic body of the country to introduce on line monitoring of mid-day-meal of kitchen. In a presentation organised at civic centre the whole process of web camera monitoring of the kitchen by NGO’s was shown.

On this occasion Chairman, Satish Upadhaya; Deputy Chairman, Standing Committee, Mr Satender Prakash; Addl. Commissioner, Kiran Dabral; Director (Education), Sushil Singh and other officials were present.

Chairman of Education Committee, Satish Upadhaya said that web cameras have been installed in all the kitchens where the Mid-Day-Meal is prepared. Through these cameras all activities in the kitchens can be viewed. He further added that we are introducing a new helpline for the Mid-Day-Meal issues at Education Department Head Quarter and also in kitchens of NGO’s.

Satish Upadhaya said that NGO’s have been directed to appoint a Nutrition Expert in each kitchen to ensure and certify that the raw material that is being used for cooking Mid-Day-Meal is as per norms.

Director (Education), Mr. Sushil Singh said that we have made mandatory health check-up for all the personnel involved in preparation and distribution of cooked food. He further informed that vehicle carrying cooked food will not be left unattended at any time. We have also made compulsory for the NGOs to seal the containers carrying Mid-Day-Meal properly.

Rujuta says, “Our Indian food and vegetables are now proved best in the world, Fruits and vegetables should be bought local produced rather than buying from supermarkets as local produced goods are fresh.”

Rujuta Diwekar never recommends boiled food in order to lose weight, but says, “accha Khao, Desi Khao, fresh Khao”. She also made people aware about importance of Ghee, that how ghee is good for health which is there in the DVD.

Richa Chaddha says, “Why can’t we eat apples made in India rather than eating “Forida-made-apples” which we don’t know that how many days before it got packed or it is fresh or not”

So, Here She Launched the DVD “Indian Food Wisdom & the Art of eating right” for the common the people, so that they can also avail the “secrets-of-losing-fats” without leaving anything.
