Mumbai: In a bid to facilitate investments into the state, the Government of Maharashtra in its first big economic push of the year today announced the state’s first-ever Global Investment Summit - “Magnetic Maharashtra: Convergence 2018”. The summit that aims to promote indigenous manufacturing and to provide impetus to the Prime Minister’s flagship program ‘Make in India’ will be held from February 18 to February 20 at the MMRDA grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai.</div>

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis unveiled the tagline #MadeForBusiness which lends into the campaign of Magnetic Maharashtra to showcase the magnitude of the state’s current contribution and its readiness to provide future industrial growth. The maiden three-day global investment summit has been conceptualized on four main pillars of ‘Employment’, ‘Sustainability’, ‘Infrastructure’ and ‘Future Industries’.</div>

Outlining his vision for Magnetic Maharashtra: Convergence 2018, Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, said “With our maiden global investment summit, we aim to strengthen Maharashtra’s position as the gateway for all industrial investments in India where the best minds, industries and government machineries converge to co-create.”</div>

Judged by eminent jury, top three start-ups will be felicitated with exciting cash prize of Rs. 50 lakhs for the winner, Rs. 30 lakhs and 20 lakhs for the first and second runners’ up.</div>

Addressing the gathering, which also included many Union Ministers and senior Union Government officers, the Prime Minister said this is the first official programme at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, and therefore has a special significance.</div>

He said that relative backwardness of some regions is an injustice to the people of those regions. In that context, he added, this effort to develop 115 backward districts, is in keeping with the vision of Dr. Ambedkar, who worked for the upliftment of the under-privileged.</div>

Giving the examples of the Jan Dhan Yojana, the construction of toilets, and rural electrification, the Prime Minister said nothing is impossible in our country if we have a firm resolve. He also gave examples of success that is being achieved in entirely new initiatives such as soil testing.</div>

We need to recognise and channelize the aspirations of the people of the aspirational districts, the Prime Minister said. He said public participation should lead to a matching of the aspirations of people, with schemes of Governments. He said the Collectors of the 115 aspirational districts have the opportunity to earn lasting satisfaction, by delivering on development objectives.</div>

 He said challenges are the path to achieving success in life, and these Collectors have the opportunity for that. He called for a concerted effort to achieve visible results in three months, till Babasaheb Ambedkar's birth anniversary on April 14th. He said he wishes to personally visit one such well-performing district in the month of April. He said these 115 districts can become the foundation for developing New India.</div>

Indian  Space  Programme has placed  Astrosat, a multi-wavelength observatory in August 2015.  It observes universe in optical, Ultraviolet, low and high energy X-ray region of the electromagnetic spectrum,  whereas most other scientific satellites are capable of observing a narrow range of wavelength band.</div>

Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) is designed to orbit Mars. It is functioning well since its positioning in Mars orbit in September 24, 2014. The designed mission life of MOM was six months but has successfully completed more than three years and is expected to function further.  All scientific payloads continue to perform well.<br />

In a bid to provide the sms facility to the maximum passengers, Indian Railway has decided to extends SMS facility regarding status of delayed trains to 1373 trains including Garib Rath, Duranto, Jan Shatabdi, Suvidha, Humsafar and Superfast trains. </div>

Ministry of Railways has extended its facility of information to passengers through Short Messaging Service (SMS) to 1373 trains including Garib Rath, Duranto, Jan Shatabdi, Suvidha, Superfast & Humsafar trains regarding status of trains running late by more than one hour. SMS giving status of late running is being sent to passengers who are boarding the trains at onward intermediate stations who had given their mobile numbers at the time of booking the ticket.</div>

Common Services Centres (CSCs): CSCs are the world’s largest digital service delivery network. These information and communication technology enabled kiosks with broadband connectivity has been providing various governments, private and social services at the doorsteps of citizen.</div>

Today, around 2.7 lakh CSCs are active and offering digital services like Aadhaar enrolment, Ticket booking, of utilities and other eGovernance services to citizens from 1.68 Lakh Gram Panchayets, which was only 2.29 Lakh 2016.</div>

<b>MyGov:</b> This is a citizen-centric digital collaboration platform that empowers people to connect with the Government & contribute towards good governance. Started on July 26th 2014 and with a modest 8.74 lakh users in the first year, today MyGov has over 50 lakh active users under 64 groups who contribute their ideas through 756 discussion groups and participate through 701 earmarked tasks, that has grown from 36 lakh active users in 2016.</div>

The per capita income of Delhi is estimated at Rs. 3,03,073/- for the year 2016-2017 and it has increased by 10.76% from 2015-16, as compared to 9.7% at national level. The per capita income at the national level is Rs. 1,03,219 during 2016-2017.</div>

The consumption of diesel in Delhi has decreased from 15,08,000 Metric Tons during 2015-16 to 12,67,000 Metric Tons  During 2016-17. On the other hand, consumption of petrol also marginally increased from 9,02,000 Metric Tons to 9,06,000 Metric Tons during the same period.</div>

Total number of new vehicles registered in Delhi was 7.78 lakh in 2016-17, including registration of 29690 E-rickshaws. The total number of registered vehicles in Delhi upto March  2017 was 1.05 crore. Out of total registered vehicles, the number of cars/jeeps was 31.53 lakh and the number of motorcycles/scooters was 67.08 lakh.</div>

DTC bus services were availed by 31.55 lakh average daily passengers during 2016-17. The total strength of fleet of DTC buses is 4027 of which 1275 buses are air conditioned. The number of reported road accidents has decreased from 8085 during 2015 to 7375 during the year 2016.</div>

The total number of telephones in Delhi service area as on 30th November, 2016 was 5.23 crore of which the number of wire line telephones was 32.07 lakh and wireless telephones was 4.91 crores.</div>

The minimum rates of monthly wages has increased from Rs 9568/- in April 2016 to Rs. 13,350/- in April 2017 for unskilled category, and from Rs 10,582/- to Rs 14.698/- for semi skilled and from Rs 11,622/- to Rs. 16,182/- for skilled category of workers.</div>
