New Delhi: Congress Vice-President & Rahul Gandhi has said that only Congress governments can think of Aam Admi and the poor and they are concerned about their welfare. The UPA Government has provided Food Security i.e. Right to Food. The large number of villages were marred by hunger, hence, ensuring Food Security is of foremost importance.
It is going to happen after thousands of years that nobody would sleep hungry. While slamming the Opposition for stating expenditure on Food Security as wasteful expenditure, Gandhi Stated that if providing food to people is wasteful expenditure, the government would not hesitate in making expenditure on this Head. Apart from providing Right to Food, the Government has given Right to Information, Employment Guarantees and Right to Education.
Gandhi further stated that there has been change in parameters in development during last few decades. The on-going fast urbanization is not so simple, it involves number of difficulties. Delhi has welcomed each and every person coming to settle down in the Capital city. Delhi represents the thought and unity of the country. The city has developed with hardwork and sweating of the poor. We would never forget their contribution and the contributors. Delhi has witnessed unparalleled development.
He further said that only Congress government can ensure such development in the Capital city. We have come a long way and we have yet to go further. I am sure that we will cover the distance very soon, he added.
