In a bid to process for part of an ongoing Overseas Deployment by the Indian Navy to the Mediterranean Sea, Africa and Europe, the Indian Naval Ship Tarkash arrived at Tangier, Morocco today for a three day visit.  The visit is part of an ongoing Overseas Deployment by the Indian Navy to the Mediterranean Sea, Africa and Europe. The visit seeks to strengthen the bonds of friendship between India and Morocco.

INS Tarkash, commanded by Captain Sathish Vasudev, is a state-of-the-art stealth frigate of the Indian Navy, equipped with a versatile range of weapons and sensors capable of addressing threats in all three dimensions. The ship is a part of the Indian Navy's Western Fleet and is under the operational Command of Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command.
During the port call, various dignitaries and government officials of Morocco including senior naval officers are scheduled to visit the ship. The ship would also take part in numerous professional, social and sporting interactions planned with the Royal Moroccan Navy. On departing the port, INS Tarkash will carry out a Passage Exercise at sea with ships of the Royal Moroccan Navy.

North East Design Fest a mega four day festival comprising of Fashion shows, Cultural program and Exhibitions of Handloom, Handicrafts, Jute, MSME sector of the North East Region ends today in New Delhi . The aim of the festival was to create an interaction of ideas, provide an international standard marketing forum and a unique platform to showcase NE India’s textiles and artisans who have come not only with their handlooms, but also- Jute, Khadi, Coirboard, Assam Silk and handicrafts as well. The leading institute of Assam, North East Institute of Fashion Technology (NEIFT) organized North East Design Fest from 19 September to 22 September, 2013
North East Design Fest witnessed twelve fashion shows highlighting Handloom and Handicrafts Ensemble by twelve designers Meghna Rai Medhi, Aji Semy Rengma, Mona Pali, Boney Darang, Wede Khape, Agnimitra Paul, Vianney Basiedor Nongrum, Rinzing Choden Bhutia, Gaurang Shah, Melody Runremsangi, Charlee Lalthlenmawia and Plabita Gogoi. The inaugural performance of the festival was a Sattriya Dance performed by Sanjukta Barooah.
