To explore the heritage and cultural from the North East, the much awaited North East Festival is being organized in the capital on 8 and 9 th of November 2013 will pay major stress on India’s ‘Look East Policy’ and the pivotal role it can play in the geo-political arena of North East India and build bridges with the rest of the South East Asian Countries.

The Seminar on Uniqueness of North East – Security, Look East Policy on the First Day of the 2-Day North East Festival will find personalities like Anil Goswami, Home Secretary, Govt of India; Ranjan Mathai, Ex-Secretary, External Affairs; G K Pillai, Ex-Secretary, Home Affairs; Y S Shahrawat, Chairman LPAI; P C Haldar, Interlocutor, Peace Process in North East and being presided by Veerappa Moily, Union Minister, Petroleum & Natural Gas at 2pm at the Conference Hall at the IGNCA, Janpath in New Delhi.

It is noted that North East Festival, a two day carnival which will see the participation of all the Chief Secretaries of the 8 North Eastern States and 4 Chief Ministers, will showcase the cultural & traditional heritage as well as present a case for the future of the region. North East India a hitherto lesser known part of the country, will bring all its varied flavours alongwith serious discussions about the future of the region which is greatly intertwined with the future of the country.

The two day event, biggest ever event on North East to be celebrated outside the region, will showcase all eight states of the region, their success stories, ethnic dances, top musical talents, tourism potential created by private tour operators, a photographic journey to the region known as ‘Paradise Unexplored’. The event, to be made part of Delhi’s annual event calendar, will be held at Indira Gandhi National Certre of Arts (IGNCA), Janpath, New Delhi.
