Having held its inaugural edition in 2012, the Delhi International Film Festival is set to be back in the capital from 21st to the 27th Dec. 2013. The festival will be a 7day event scheduled to take place at the NDMC Convention Center, Connought Place, New Delhi.

The festival will showcase 171 films from 39 countries around the world. The 2nd edition will have fashion, singing and poetry sections along with the film section.

The festival will open with the screening of the critically acclaimed film from Sri Lanka “Sri Siddhartha Gautama” directed by Mr. Saman Virman.

The Closing film of the festival will be “ Take Mama” from Israel, Directed by Ariel Cohen.Acclaimed Indian Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia, who was here for the Press Conference of the 2nd Delhi International Film Festival said “DIFF 2013 is not only India’s but also world’s first film festival that has so many sections and dimensions to it.”

Also present at the event was Gagan Malik, the lead actor from the film “Sri Siddhartha Gautama”. Gagan who also played Ram in Ramayan earlier this year said “it gives me great pleasure in knowing that the festival will begin with a film that gives the message of world peace and unity.” He further added “playing the role of young Gautam Buddh was an honour as well as a responsibility for me.”

This year the event has been named as “Peace for World” .The Opening Ceremony of the festival will be graced by many diplomats and bureaucrats from around the world.
