New Delhi: “Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures.” - Henry Ward Beecher. Similar to the saying of Beecher is Leena Bidani, a self-taught artist known for expressing her individuality and emotions through her paintbrush.
Her keen interest in the arts, sketching and painting since
childhood, made her remarkably different from others. Leenacame with her
first solo exhibition in 2009, which was an instant successful show,
where her works were quite appreciated.Just after her first take, she
banged on with two more solo and three joint exhibitions.
The central and primary theme of most of Leena’s works is women oriented. Her extraneous command over the form and sense of balance between form, line and colour, showcase her intrinsic gift. She beautifully bestowspoise and vigorous suppleness to the eccentric curves that carve her images. One can easily find vibrant colours and deep tones with bold strokes in her art work that emphasizes her sentiments and individuality and make them stand apart.
Leena has also walked the ramp for PETA & Sanjana Jon & for Designer Pawan Sachdeva for Festival Of Hope & for his resort wear collection. In 2013 she also featured in a coffee table book - DELHI PRIMES - Women In Power.
While the discussion of visual art, the first thing which flashes into mind are paintings, drawings, sculptures, films and photographs. But without carving the usual and normal path, Leena transformed her art into wearable art by launching ties, scarfs, stoles, clutches and hand bags under the label –“Leena B.” in November 2013.
Leena for a long time wanted to translate her colorful and modern art on clothes. Finally associating in work with Aashkara, who co-designed with her, she was able to use her creative skills by finally having her designs on clothes and bags too. In the words of Leena, “Aashkara is my inspiration throughout. She is very well versed with fashion and helps me with her fashion sensibility.” Besides products of Leena B. – the store retails fashion jewelry, accessories, pashmina stoles etc.

Born and brought up in Delhi and a
product of Convent of Jesus & Mary, New Delhi, Leena graduated in
Philosophy Honours from Lady Sri Ram College, New Delhi. Later, she
pursued a course in advertising from North Eastern University, Boston,
USA.
