Mumbai: Laila Singh under her label 'Social Butterfly' made her debut with an awe inspiring collection aptly titled "Flight of Fancy" at Jabong Stage during Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014.
The collection was inspired by feathers and focused on the whimsical, almost surreal beauty of peacock plumage in particular, and was both experimental and traditional with silhouettes and stones reflecting the playful nature of the range.
Mesh, geometrical shapes, semi-precious stones, draped chains, earrings, cuffs, neckpieces, cocktail rings and bracelets made their way down the runway in bold shades such as black, venom red, Egyptian gold, sea green and glimmering bronze.
The designer also added to the quirkiness of her collection by including palm bracelets, forearm bands and also played with emphasised 'connected' earrings which encircled one’s whole ear.
Showstopper Kamal Sidhu model, VJ and TV anchor wore a particularly enticing Indo-Western inspired necklace with block and filigree work in dark silver with pop coloured beads.
Enchanting and eclectic, 'Flight of Fancy' by Laila Singh' label "Social Butterfly" was sure to leave any diva wanting more.
