New Delhi: The Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre in cooperation with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and Times of India presents a concert by the world famous Kákics Ensemble from Hungary at 2nd World Percussion Festival in New Delhi.
The musicians will be on an India tour and will perform at Dehradun, after theDelhi’s concert.
The Kákics Folk Ensemble was founded in 1997. The band is well known among the Hungarian folk music enthusiasts for its regular concerts and folk dance events. The ensemble made several tours inEcuador, Peru, Italy, Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Sweden, and Norway with a great success.
Their songs are usually accompanied by specific musical instruments of the original times, known as Hungarian peasant instruments of the old traditions.
The band has a diverse repertoire. Apart from the chants of poor young men who fled from military service, choosing the outlaws fate, the ensemble also plays the songs having contemporary and eternal words of folk traditions that permit the audience to enter the world of Hungarian peasants.
