New Delhi: The 4th Director General Level Talks between the Border Security Force of India and General Authority for Border Protection of Mongolia held at BSF HQrs, CGO Complex, New Delhi.
13 member strong Indian delegation was led by D K Pathak, IPS, Director General, BSF and the Mongolian delegation consisting of 5 members was led by Brigadier General Lhachinjav Head of General Authority for Border Protection (GABP).
During the discussions, both the signed discussed that India has always shared strong Historical, Cultural and Spritual ties with Mangolia . With the growth of global terrorism, transnational crimes like Drug Trafficking, Smuggling of illegal Arms & Ammunition, there is need for increased cooperation between the two countries for effective prevention and detection of crimes.
Both BSF and GABP underscored the need for continuous mutual cooperation between the two forces. Acknowledging that both the countries have similar terrain at the border and both countries face similar kind of challenges on the border, both sides expressed need for learning from each other’s best practices in border management.
Brigadier General Lhachinjav Sh (Head of General Authority for Border Protection of Mongolia), expressed his great satisfaction towards progress of cooperation between the two forces. He extended congratulations to BSF on its Golden Jubilee Celebrations. He expressed that both the countries have long tradition of Historical, Cultural and Spiritual relationships, which is improving with high level visits between two Countries.
He further said that Mongolia and India are having cordial diplomatic relations since 1955 and next year i.e. in 2015 it would be its 60th Anniversary of diplomatic relationship. The co-operation between the two Border Guarding Forces started in the year 2008, since then, the state of co-operation has been very positive, as the highest level meetings between Border Guarding Forces of the both the Countries are taking place regularly.
Both DG BSF and Head of GABP expressed satisfaction over the outcome of DG level talks. Both sides agreed that the decisions taken in the conference would go a long way in enhancing the cooperation between the two forces and improving the Border Management. It was decided tht the next DG Level talks would be held in Mongolia in 2015.
