Bhubaneswar: With the glorious performances during the practice matches, Argentina has made it clear that teams playing in the Champions Trophy are the 8 best teams of the world and it is looking forward to playing against them.
Further, being the tournament’s only minnows, the Argentina team hit the pitch today for their second practice session and worked on various strategies on penalty corners and other fitness drills. The Argentineans spent most the session on physical exercises and trying new team combinations.
Speaking after the training session, player Gonzalo Peillat said, “We are very excited to start the tournament and we are aiming at winning the best matches. The teams playing in the Champions Trophy are the 8 best teams of the world and we are looking forward to playing against them. We’ll proceed step by step in a very composed manner and will be intending for a good finish.”
Commenting on the team’s practice and game strategy, Head Coach Carlos Retegui said, “Indians have been playing brilliantly for the last few months and the whole team is in great form. I think, their form and winning spree will be a challenge for other teams. Moreover, India is playing under Roelant Oltmans, who is very experienced and known for out-of-the-box strategies. So, I think their game is going to be very different from what we have seen earlier. We are anticipating the game against them and also the other teams of our pool.”
The Hero Men’s Champions Trophy 2014 will be telecasted live on Ten Sports.
