New Delhi: Grand Slam Baseball announced the collaboration with Rinku Singh, a left-handed baseball pitcher with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization for the promotion of Baseball in India on 14th December, 2014 at Chanakyapuri. The “Grand Slam Baseball New Delhi Little league” is organised by Raunaq Sahni, Founder, Grand Slam Baseball in association American Embassy.

Speaking on the occasion, Raunaq Sahni said, “Grand Slam Baseball is bringing communities in India together through sports and we are happy to join hands with Rinku Singh to promote Baseball in India. As we are bringing the awareness about the sport, Indian is the next hotbed for baseball.

“I am honoured to be a part of Grand Slam Baseball New Delhi Little league, I always want to be a part of such organizations which create awareness and entertain people. Raunaq Sahni and Jackson Golden will provide a new sport to India” said Rinku Singh.

More than 300 local and expat kids participated in the league this season. The league represents a lot more than just baseball. It provides kids with a diverse intercultural exposure which leads them to respect other cultures and values. Kids from American Embassy School, British School, Japanese School and Modern School Barahkhamba participated in the tournament this season.

Apart from this, we also sponsored 50 underprivileged kids, who have the potential to become professional baseball players. I truly believe that the league has taught our players to respect people who come from cultures and backgrounds which are much different than their own.
