New Delhi: In a major thrust for the BJP for the Delhi Assembly Election, its candidate won a convincing victory in elections to the Delhi Cantonment Board just before the Delhi elections.
Expressing his happiness over the victory in the elections to the Delhi Cantonment Board, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Satish Upadhyay said that this victory shows that BJP is the first choice of the people of Delhi.
It may be mentioned that AAP candidate Surender Singh had won the Delhi Cantonment assembly seat in the last elections to the Delhi Legislative Assembly. Now, in this election BJP has won five seats, Congress two seats and AAP one seat out of the 10 seats of Delhi Cantonment Board. This result is a first shock of the New Year to the Aam Aadmi Party who was the self declared first choice of the people of Delhi.
Upadhyay said that these results have also given a strong reply to that political party which was saying that this time no single political party will get majority in the assembly elections. The voters of cantonment board have shown that they do not believe in fractured mandate. He expressed his confidence that the people of Delhi will give a clear majority to the BJP and pave the way for development of Delhi.
The victory in cantonment board was celebrated at the party office today in the evening with display of fireworks and distribution of sweets. Pradesh President Shri Satish Upadhyay felicitated all the winning candidates. Late in the evening the winning candidates along with Pradesh President and other leaders met National President Shri Amit Shah.
