Mumbai: In a bid to give the new look to
the fashion industry, India’s premier
fashion platform, Lakmé Fashion Week is all set to soar to new heights with
iconic designer, Anita Dongre coming on board as the Lakmé Grand Finale
Designer for its Summer Resort 2017 Edition.
As a brand, Lakmé has constantly evolved
and reinvented itself to build a rich legacy of trends in India. After
successfully establishing Gloss, Sculpt and Illuminate as trend leading make-up
ranges, the brand now introduces the next generation of lipsticks, enriched
with argan oil. Known around the world as a miracle beauty solution, argan oil
(a.k.a liquid gold) is considered by the beauty industry to be almost as
valuable as the metal it’s named for.
Argan oil benefits more than just your
skin and hair; it makes for a wonderful lip treatment by keeping your lips
soft, smooth and conditioned. One of the main reasons that argan oil is healing
is that it is rich with vitamin A and vitamin E. Argan oil absorbs quickly, and
does not leave an oily residue. This magic ingredient will take center stage at
Lakmé Fashion Week and form the inspiration for Anita Dongre’s finale
collection. Using her aesthetic she will put together a collection to bring
alive the ‘Liquid Gold’ trend and redefine the word ‘luxe’.
Anita Dongre has created designer wear
that leaves unforgettable impressions on the world, and yet, is versatile
enough to transcend people, places and occasions. A line that effortlessly
fuses a variety of styles, silhouettes and designs to offer customers a fashion
that is global chic. And that adapts to every lifestyle. Anita believes in
preserving the rich heritage of India in the Anita Dongre label “Lakmé Fashion
Week has been a trend leading platform. It feels great to collaborate with the
Lakmé team for the Grand Finale for the first time. I am excited about the
argan oil trend in beauty and look forward to bringing alive the Liquid Gold
theme through my designs.” says Anita Grand Finale Designer, Lakmé Fashion Week
Summer/ Resort 2017.
Talking about the collaboration, Purnima
Lamba, Head of Innovation at Lakmé said, “Anita’s organic approach made her a
natural collaborator as we launch our Argan Oil lipsticks range. She works
closely with traditional artisans in showcasing Indian aesthetics with a modern
sensibility. We look forward to seeing her interpretation of Liquid Gold at the
finale.”
