“The Yuvraj Collection” is about the unique bond between Mothers and Sons. Nischay Parekh and Jivraj Singh grew up near each other in the quiet leafy Kolkata neighbourhood of Ballygunge and even went to the same schools. They have musician and designer mothers.

Hence, they have not only have imbibed music in various forms from their mothers but also very definitive forms of colour, shape form and style.

The ease with which they wear yellow and turquoise suits comes not only from their own sense of style but also from a lifetime spent their moms who has pushed sensorial boundaries in their own particular ways.
The lyrics of their songs speak of a large inner world where pandas and storks walk together. This was the inspiration we took forward here at Sumona Couture to emphasize their world again on red and blue velvet prince coats.
Their signature storks walking among the trees have come a long way from the first album cover designed by Yashasvi Mathis. We thought this was an important transition piece between their trademark western suits and the new eastern apparel that is to follow in this collection.
This collection by Sumona Couture was symbiotic. As a mother, she was inspired by Nischay and Jivraj and they, in turn, responded to all the colour, shape and fabrics thrown at them. They were open to ideas and very easy to work with. Parekh and Singh are not only musicians and style icons today but also very representative of the kind of men Sumona Couture wants to dress.
