As the campaign for Election 2019 in on peak, Aam Aadmi Party’s North East Delhi Candidate & AAP leader Mr. Dilip Pandey met a delegation of teachers and students from the Stanford University on the upcoming General Elections, current scenario of the country, Delhi Governance model and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The interactive session was also attended by Mr. Durgesh Pathak, the Organization Building In-charge of AAP and a PAC Member.
The 20-member delegation comprised of students of the Law department and teachers of the department. The discussions were held on the upcoming General Elections, current scenario of the country, Delhi Governance model and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
The delegation wanted to know the works of the Delhi Government done for the people of Delhi. Mr. Pandey explained to them, “The Delhi Government supplies free water (20K litres per family per month), cheapest electricity in the country, government schools have seen a turn-around in the last 4 years, healthcare has seen a world of improvement. This all has been possible as we as a political party run on the money of the people and not any corporate. We work for the people and not corporates.”
On a query from the delegation, AAP leader Mr. Durgesh Pathak explained the delegation as how the AAP was different and has an edge over its political rivals. “We are a bunch of people with good intention and we have shown it through the Delhi Model of governance. We care for the people. AAP is a fresh breeze of air in the politically vitiated atmosphere of the country."
Explaining the budgetary allocation of the Delhi Government, Mr. Pandey said, “We have been continuously been allocating more than 25% for education, followed by health and PWD. We are looking at the real growth of Delhi and the residents of the city. Education has the power to change the society and mould the next generation in a positive manner. We have shown results in the education, health and anti-corruption sectors.”
Mr. Dilip Pandey explained to the delegation on the campaign design of the party and how important was the door to door campaign for the party which has limited resources to reach out to the people through main-stream media. “Door to door campaign gives you an upper edge over your rival. They feel a personal connect with AAP. We reach out to each and every household of Delhi personally and that makes a different. The 2015 assembly election results have shown how Door to Door campaign works,” said Mr. Pandey.
