Sheila's entry in Delhi has raised some hope for Congress but it has closed all the hope for AAP. Congress has blamed that Aam Aadmi Party was trying to sell an unachievable dream to the people in the name of fighting for full Statehood. Kejriwal government kept a blind eye when the sealing and demolition drives were ruining the lives of lakhs of traders and small industrial units, and the lakhs of people who depend on these sectors for their livelihood.
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Smt. Sheila Dikshit said that instead of addressing the immediate pressing problems of the common people, the AAP was trying to sell an unachievable dream to the people in the name of fighting for full Statehood. She said that the Kejriwal government kept a blind eye when the sealing and demolition drives were ruining the lives of lakhs of traders and small industrial units, and the lakhs of people who depend on these sectors for their livelihood.
Smt. Sheila Dikshit said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was fooling the people on the issue of full Statehood for Delhi. She said that ever since Kejriwal came to politics, he has been mouthing lies and making hollow promises to fool the people, but the intelligent Delhi voters have seen through his game plan, and they would no longer be fooled by his lies and falsehood as his politics have been without any scruples.

Smt. Sheila Dikshit said that had Kejriwal read about the Indian Constitution and understood it well, he would not have been repeatedly telling lies to the people on the full Statehood issue. She said that asking for full Statehood for Delhi meant going against the grain of the Indian constitution, and Kejriwal seems to be totally ignorant about the country’s Constitution. She said that to get full Statehood for Delhi, the Constitution needs to be amended which the Aam Aadmi Party cannot achieve without the support of the majority in Parliament.
Smt Sheila Dikshit said that in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, four Aam Aadmi Party candidates were elected from Punjab and subsequently, AAP sent three MPs from Delhi to the Rajya Sabha but none of them ever raised the issue of full Statehood for Delhi neither in the Lok Sabha nor in the Rajya Sabha.
She said that the AAP was raising the Statehood issue to divert people’s attention from AAP’s Governance failure in Delhi for the past four and half years when Kejriwal and his team could not spare any time for addressing the pressing problems of the people, as the AAP leaders were busy in locking horns with the Lt. Governor, bureaucrats and the BJP Government at the Centre, though it is a fact that both AAP and BJP are two sides of the same worthless coin.
