Post COVID- 19 Induced lockdown: Delhi Govt. Initiate dialogue for future outlook of schools
In a bid to to create an education set up that ensures equitable quality learning and well being of all children in post lockdown phase, Delhi government has invited suggestions from the School heads, teachers and students for functioning of the school after lockdown. 
The Deputy Chief Minister and the Education Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia has launched a dialogue with students, teachers, parents and principals about the future outlook of schools in Delhi. 

In the coming week, the Education Minister will be inviting key stakeholders from all over Delhi for suggestions and inputs that the Delhi Government should implement once the schools reopen.
 

As a first step to initiate this dialogue, an online suggestion form has been put on the website of the Directorate of Education, Govt.of Delhi www.edudel.nic.in. Students, teachers, principals and parents whose children are studying in school can give their inputs. Respondents submitting practical and out of the box suggestions will be invited to share their thoughts with the Education Minister of Delhi through online platform. 
 
The dialogue sessions will be centered on how each stakeholder views the challenges and opportunities created by Covid situation, constraints we are likely to face in times to come and steps that needs to be taken from now onwards to create an education set up that ensures equitable quality learning and well being of all children in post lockdown phase.
 

During the lockdown, Delhi Government took several initiatives to support the learning and well being of children at home. Engagement of Parents has been a vital component in those initiatives. These initiaves are:
  • Mission Buniyad classes and Happiness Classes for children till class 8. 
  • Online Maths Classes for 9th students in collaboration with Khan Academy. 
  • Live online classes in 11 subjects for students likely to join class 12 this year
  • Everyday English and Personality Development classes for 10th and 12th students in collaboration with British Council and MacMillian Education
These initiatives covering all children currently enrolled in Delhi Government schools were reviewed and monitored weekly by Education Minister Shri Manish Sisodia alongwith Director Education Shri Binay Bhushan and Education Advisor Shri Shailendra Sharma. 
 Building on those experiences and inputs of the four key stakeholders, the Delhi Government plans to develop a protocol for schools in post Corona times.
