Children's Day, celebrated every year on 14 November in India, holds special significance which is celebrated to honor the affection and love of children towards the country's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary. Children's Day celebrated this year i.e. in 2024 is also special because it is the 135th birth anniversary of the country's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. 

Children's Day is observed to celebrate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. The first Prime Minister of India and popularly known as Chacha Nehru for the children was borne on 14 November 1889. 

Pandit Nehru was very fond of the children and his love and affection for the children is known for everyone. He loves them very much and they showered him with love as well. That is the reason that every year we use to celebrate the 14 November i.e. the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru as the Bal Divas. In fact, it was 1959 when 14 November is observed as the Children's day.
