The President and Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces Ram NathKovind conferred three Kirti Chakras and thirteen Shaurya Chakras to Armed Forces Personnel for displaying conspicuous gallantry, indomitable courage and extreme devotion to duty at a solemn ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhawan here today. Two Kirti Chakras and two of the Shaurya Chakras were given posthumously.</div>

In a bid to reduce the fear of maths amongst student, Human Resource Development Ministry announced to constitute the committee under the Chairmanship of Gujarat Education Minister Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama to suggest the ways to make the maths subject easy. Human Resource Development Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar said after the Annual Meeting of National Council of Educational Research and Training- NCERT at New Delhi.</div>

Javadekar said that this decision was taken on the basis of National Assessment Survey to eliminate the fear of maths among the students. He further said that eminent educationists and senior officials will be the part of this committee.</div>

Shri Javdekar said that in second significant decision, another committee will be setup under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana Shri Kadiyam Srihari to suggest and strengthen the teacher’s in-service training. Eminent educationist and senior official will also be part of this committee. Both committees will submit their reports within three months. Education Ministers of six states and education secretaries of the states also participated in today’s annual meeting of NCERT.</div>

HRD Minister was happy to announce that Government has received overwhelming response to reduce the burden of NCERT syllabus. 15000 suggestions have been received till date while Government is expecting more than 1 Lakh responses by the end of this month.</div>

Shri Javadekar further said that all the education Ministers have welcomed the decision of Central Government to formulate a Integrated Scheme on School Education by subsuming Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teacher Education (TE). </div>

Premier League(GPL) 2018 was announced by the cricket legends of world cricket-

capital, as non-delhi bound commercial vehicles will not entre the city.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

a unique feature. Two new 4-lane bridges on both sides of the existing major
bridge on river Yamuna will convert it to a 16-lane bridge. This is the first
bridge in the country to have vertical gardens with solar system and drip

In Lok Sabha, Singh made a statement in the Lok Sabha on violence during Bharat Bandh.</span></span><br />

House, I want to assure the people that there has been no dilution in
whatsoever by my Government, rather after coming to power and examining the
SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, we have taken a decision to strengthen it.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) (PoA) Amendment Act. As
part of the amendment to SC/ST PoA Act, new offences were added. It was
observed that due to the delay in filing of charge sheet, the victims/witness
who were vulnerable were influenced and silenced. In order to protect them, the
provision of witness protection was introduced. The compensation payable to the
victims was also enhanced. There has been a new provision where action against
Government Servants shall be taken against those found negligent in
implementing the Act.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

after the judgement of Supreme Court, a decision was taken by my Government to
file a review petition in the Supreme Court. The Ld. Attorney General has made
an appeal in the Supreme Court for an urgent hearing and the Supreme Court has
agreed to hear the matter at 2 o’clock today. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

ensured. We have provided all assistance to the States immediately on their
request. The Home Ministry is keeping a close vigil and is in constant touch
with the State Governments.</span></div>
