New Delhi: During the period from 20th July to 26 July 2013, NDRF deployed its 43 teams in various parts of country viz Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, J&K, Jhakhand, Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal in connection with monsoon season, Amarnath Yatra, Building Collapse, Shrawani Mela and drowning cases, in different states. Teams saved many precious lives and also distributed relief materials with the help of local authorities to the marooned villagers.

Further, due to the incessant rain and fury of Godavari River, the State Government of Andhra Pradesh requisitioned for deployment of NDRF teams. Subsequently NDRF immediately deployed its 10 teams in Rangareddy, Bhadrachalam (Khammam), East Godavari, West Godavari, Adilabad, Karimnagar

and Warangal districts w.e.f. 19 operation in flood ravaged areas for the evacuation of stranded persons and evacuated 1986 persons and shifted them to safer places .

In all, during the above mentioned period NDRF saved 2520 precious lives and retrieved 04 dead bodies. The July’2013 to 26 th July’2013 NDRF deployed and carried out intensive rescue.
