New Delhi: Chairman Standing Committee Ramkishan Singhal condemned the statement of Delhi government saying that they have opened the Pandara Box against Municipal Corporation. He said that Delhi Government is making such Hollow Statements to misguide the Citizens.
Singhal alleged that Delhi Government for restricting local bodies to carry out development works out of their own revenue while the other agencies have been allowed to carry out development works although they do not have maintenance staff, resulting broken roads and drains. He demanded the judicial inquiry in the promises made to regularize unauthorized colonies before assembly elections in 2008. The Congress came into power in the elections just because of making these promises.
Delhi Government had laid down the procedure for finalizing the boundaries of unauthorized colonies after which Municipal Corporation will finalize the lay out plans. North Municipal Corporation has received only one lay out plan of an unauthorized colony after finalizing boundaries that has been approved by the Corporation.
Chairman Standing Committee demanded that if the intention of Delhi Government to regularize unauthorized colonies is serious and honest they should bring an ordinance to regularize the unauthorized colonies in their present state without the condition of development charges or cost of the land. And they forward the lay out plans to North DMC those will be approved immediately. He also said that North DMC would not ask for any money for approval of the lay out plans it would bear it out of its own revenue.
Singhal said that Delhi Government is misleading the 40 Lakh citizens of unauthorized colonies saying that local bodies or not approving the lay out plans. He concluded saying that the Delhi Government should work for the development above party politics.
