Ranchi: In one of the longest running corruption case, a court in Jharkhand has convicted RJD chief and former chief minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad and 44 others in the connection of the much hyped fodder scam.
Another former chief minister of Bihar Jagannah Mishra was also convicted in the same case with Lalu yadav. According to sources, they have been convicted for forgery, cheating, conspiracy and other offenses under the Prevention of Corruption Act and under the circumstances, chief minister of Bihar faces a maximum of seven years.
Special judge Pravas Kumar Singh has found all the 45 guilty for the corruption. After the proceedings, Lalu yadav was sent to the Birsa Munda jail amid his much supporters who were certainly in desperate situation after Lalu's conviction.
Now the fate for Lalu and his party RJD has become very grim as it will have to face many challenges for its survival. First of all, the main challenge before the party will appear for leadership.
