Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dikshit today stated that regularization of unauthorized colonies and conferment of ownership rights has enhanced the status of lakhs of families in the Capital city. This has also initiated a new era of planned development. Dikshit expressed these views in a mammoth public meeting organized by Shri Ajay Rana, Delhi PWD Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan, Parliamentary Secretary to CM Shri Surinder Kumar and MLA Devender Yadav also addressed the gathering.
Dikshit further stated that employment opportunities as well as prosperity in Delhi has increased. Delhi still continues to be a centre of attraction as its per capita income is the highest in the country. The government ensures that people are benefitted with the world-class basic amenities. The infrastructure has been acclaimed by the visitors coming from other states and other countries. The development in Delhi is visible and can be felt easily. In order to enhance efficiency in government offices, the city government has adopted e-governance tool. 116 services of 24 departments have brought under the ambit of e-SLA. A time limit has been set up to deliver public services.
This is a revolutionary step in the direction of people-oriented governance. The progress can be seen in the field of education, health, transport, roads and flyovers. The government has been working for the benefit of all sections of the society. Dilli Annshree Yojana, Food Security Program, Kerosene-free Dilli, Laadli, pension scheme for aged, widows and handicapped are some examples in this direction which are providing relief to people.
Chauhan stated that his department is making outer Ring Road signal-free by constructing elevated roads and flyovers with Rs.2200 cr. The roads in the villages which were in bad shape have been facelifted with Rs.1800 cr. The government has started extension of Barapullah elevated road on both the side. Delhi can boast of an ISBT at Kashmere Gate which is equipped with airport like amenities.
