Kolkata: As the result was expected after the glorious performances by Rohit Sharma and Mohammad Shami as a debut player and R Ashwin, India beat West Indies by innings and 51 runs in the first test match.
The test match provided India a lot of expectation and hopes in terms of Mohammad Shami who lke First innings, shines once again and helped India by lead in the series. He got 9 wickets in the debut test match and certainly pave the way like Rohit Sharma and R Ashwin for the win.
Certainly the test was a memorable in terms of Sachin Tendulkar's farewell series and India won by an innings and 51 runs against the West Indies on the third day at the Eden Gardens here Friday to give a better farewell opening test for the ongoing series.
Certainly Mohammad Shami and Rohit Sharma were the actual heroes for the test who were playing in their debut test and performed like an experience players.
Shami’s spell like 9 wickets for only 118 runs is certainly tells a good hope for Indian team. And the century by Rohit Sharma in his debut test is also provide some good hope after the retirement of Sachin Tendulkar. However it will be so early to compare any one with he Sachin Tendulkar, who can be compared right now with only Sachin and Sachin.
