Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with his cabinet colleagues Manish Sisodia, Somnath Bharti and Ms Rakhi Birlan today called on union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. The Chief Minister brought to the notice of the Union Home Minister the growing incidents of heinous crimes in the capital, particularly against women, including the brutal gangrape of a Danish national and the callousness of the Delhi Police in dealing with the serious situation.
The Chief Minister apprised him about two recent incidents of collusion between Delhi Police and criminals in two different areas of the city.
Shri Kejriwal also handed over a letter about the series of incidents of crimes in the capital to Shri Shinde which is attached along with this press release.
The Delhi government has informed the central government about the indifferent attitude of Delhi Police in making the capital safe for its citizens.
The Chief Minister has demanded that following officers, who are directly responsible for dereliction of duty and have compromised their positions, be suspended SHO Sagarpur, SHO Malviya Nagar, ACP Harpal Singh and ACP Jakhar (whose has jurisdiction over Malviya Nagar Police Station)
Bringing these incidents into the notice of Home Minister, the Chief Minister has informed him that in case the ministry of home affairs does not suspend the following police officers by Monday morning 10 AM (January 20), he will be forced to sit on a Dharna along with his cabinet colleagues and MLAs on Monday from 11 AM outside the North Block.
Kejriwal has appealed to the people of Delhi to join the Dharna and particularly those facing hardships due to non-cooperative and unprofessional attitude of the Police are welcome to join the CM .
