Google has posted a doodle to its hope page to commemorate the 135 th birth anniversary of Sarojini Naidu. By posting the image of Smt Sarojini Naidu, the renowned freedom fighter for India’s freedom struggle, Google has tried to salute her contributions. Known as the Nightingale of India, she has played crucial role for the Indian Independence.
Sarojini Naidu: Sarojini Naidu was born on February 13, 1879 in Hyderabad. She was married with Govindarajulu Naidu who was a doctor by profession. She was died of a heart attack on March 2, 1949.
Needless to say, she was the first Indian woman to become the president of the Indian National Congress. She was also the first woman to become governor of Uttar Pradesh.
She was a famous poet also and she eulogized Indian in her poems which were published in three collections and were highly appreciated.
