New Delhi: East Delhi Mayor Mr. Ram Narayn Dubey today inaugurated the nine-day inter-zonal sports competition at Sports Complex in East Vinod Nagar in Mayur Vihar. The sports competition will continue till February 21. Standing Committee Deputy Chairman Mr. Sanjay Kaushik, member of the Education Committee Ms. Uma Mehta, Additional Commissioner (Education) Mr. D P Ture and Director (Education) Mr. K Vijayan were also present on this occasion. The event was presided over by Education Committee Chairman Mr. Harsh Malhotra.
Ram Narayn Dubey said that sports event like these develop sportsmanship among students besides keeping them fit and full of energy. The sports competition began with a marchpast followed by a cultural programme by the students of EDMC schools. Nearly 600 students are participating in the competition.
Harsh Malhotra said that this event will infuse a sense of competitiveness and zeal among the students. He said that this event was a success last year and therefore it was decided to conduct it this year as well.
