Municipal Corporation of Delhi (South) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Centre for Green Mobility (CGM), Ahmedabad based NGO for technical assistance & advisory support for a pilot project on bicycle sharing system.
Satish Upadhayay, chairman, standing committee said that this organization will check the feasibility of this project. Then we will start it in South Zone on a pilot project basis and if we are successful in it, then it will be launched in all zones.

He said that the rapid growth of Delhi posses severe strain on its transportation network and traffic management. This is an effort to provide first and last mile connectivity and also to nurture cycling culture in the city especially among youths. This will go a long way in making Delhi more friendly, greener & healthier for its people.”
Chairman further said that we have recognized the need for timely management of various aspects of urban transportation as well as strengthening the public transportation system, pedestrian, bicycle and non-motorized and eco-friendly transportation network through various initiatives, programmes, projects, and investments to benefit all residents of the city;
Recent studies shows that the is fastest developing cities in the country, having more than 60,00,000 motor vehicles in the city. Anuj Malhotra, executive director of CGM, said, "It is an opportune time to initiate NMT facilities, like cycle sharing which has huge potential to become an alternative mode of travel in Delhi. The feasibility report will detail out the services which include technical & promotional features of the system.
