The Department of Civil Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia is going to organize a National Conference on "Water Resource Management Achievements & Challenges-2014" on March 22, 2014.
The aims of the Conference is to promote economic and social development by addressing and balancing diverse water use interests, while simultaneously safeguarding water resources. However, current water management practices are far from fulfilling these objectives for different reasons.
The Conference focuses in providing an opportunity for academicians, researchers, scientists, practitioners, water managers and professionals from economy, administration, international agencies, private institutions and consulting establishments to come together to express their opinions and interests. The Conference is aimed to achieve the following objectives as to promote and facilitate the interchange of ideas within the techno-scientific community in pursuit of sustainable development water resources.
To provide an opportunity for decision makers, experts, and scientists to share their expertise in order to find integrative and comprehensive solutions for water resource problems. To accord recognition to outstanding workers in water resources sector through suitable awards. The Inaugural Session of the Conference is scheduled to be held in the Auditorium of Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia.
Prof. Mohammad Shakeel, Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia shall deliver Inaugural Address of the Conference. Dr. Sanjay Bajpai, Scientist-F Director, Technology Mission Cell Water & Solar Energy, Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi shall be the Chief Guest of the programme.
Prof. I.H. Khan, Ex-Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia shall be the Guest of Honour. Prof. S.M. Sajid, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia shall address the guests and audience in his Presidential Address of the Inaugural Session.
