New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party has said that both the Congress and BJP have joined hands to thwart the democratic rights of the people of Delhi to have a popularly elected Government.
AAP said that in the petition filed by the Aam Aadmi Party in the Supreme Court challenging the non-dissolution of the Delhi Legislative Assembly &non-holding of fresh elections, both the Congress and the BJP have filed their affidavits justifying the non-dissolution and prolonged imposition of President’s Rule.
Despite the fact that Supreme Court had specifically asked both the parties to make their stand clear as to whether they are willing to form the Government by joining hands, both the parties have not indicated any willingness to form the Government.
This shows that both the Congress and BJP have joined hands to thwart the democratic rights of the people of Delhi to have a popularly elected Government. This is because they feel that in the event of fresh elections, AAP would get a majority and form the government in Delhi, and both parties would instead have a prolonged Centre’s Rule irrespective of the political party in power at the Centre.
