Patna: And finally Bihar got the new chief minister as Jitan Ram Manjhi, 68 who sworn in as the 23rd chief minister of the State. Certainly it was the final full stop for some time from which the state was crossing in the state of uncertainty after the resignation of Nitish Kumar.

Manghi took oath with 17 ministers out of which fifteen JD(U) ministers from the Nitish Kumar-led ministry and two independents supporting the government were also part of cabinet.

According to sources, te cabinet would be expanded to accommodate 35 ministers, including the chief minister over the next few weeks however the date has not been announced. Newly elected chief minister Manjhi government is likely to seek a vote of confidence on May 23.

Needless to say, the two independent legislators -Vinay Bihari and Dulal Chandra Goswami - are first time ministers.

It is noted that due to the major debacle of JDU in the Bihar during the Lok Sabha Polls, Nitish Kumar resigned on the moral ground and there create a uncertainly for the state.
