New Delhi: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) said the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party’s decision to spend the MLA funds through Swaraj and Mohalla Sabhas was yet another drama being enacted by Arvinde Kejriwal to mislead the people of Delhi. The Congress, holding the BJP and the AAP responsible for the worsening power and water situation in Delhi, said after a gap of 15 years, suddenly there were power cuts in Delhi for hours together, and the people were thirsting for each drop of water and warned that the people will teach the BJP and the AAP a bitter lesson when the time comes.
Arvinder Singh and Mukesh Sharma said not only Kejriwal had announced in the Delhi Assembly to end the MLA funds, but had also termed it as a scheme to foster corruption. The Congress party said on what basis was now Kejriwal talking about spending the MLA funds, and asked whether Kejriwal and his fellow-MLAs were accepting the MLA funds only to encourage corruption? Both the leaders asked the AAP if it was so concerned about the Mohalla Sabhas, why did it not bring a bill about it. Both the leaders said the truth was that not even a draft of the bill was prepared. They said after becoming the Chief Minister, Shri Kejriwal not once, but five times had misled the people of Delhi.
Arvinder Singh and Shri Mukesh Sharma, condemning the “Achhe Din Aanewale Hein” slogan, said now that Delhi was under the rule of the BJP-ruled Centre, the power and water problems had come to a dangerous state. People, fed with hours of power cuts, were now demonstrating on the streets and creating jams. The people of Delhi were wondering if these were the goods days, then what would be the condition during the bad days? The Congress party warned the administration that the people would come out on the streets with their power and water woes, and if the dangerous situation that prevailed during the BJP rule in Delhi from 1993 to 1998 is repeated, the BJP and the AAP would be held responsible. They said it would be a big challenge for the administration to pacify the agitated citizens on the issue of power and water shortages.
