New Delhi: More than being simply awaited, the weekends have become a dazzling set of bright days. This weekend takes you to the next level of this cultural initiative by Delhi Tourism at Dilli Haat Janak Puri.
Delhi Tourism in collaboration with Department of Art, Culture and Languages has been organising the Dilli Haat Utsav .These series of festivals happening every weekend aim to promote cultural tourism in the city as well as usher in a wave of vibrancy.
Dilli Haat Janak Puri came alive to breathtaking performances of Bhangra and Gidda by Punjabi Academy here today. The open air amphitheatre witnessed melodies by Punjabi singers (both male and female) along with colorful dance performances, which captivated the crowd. People in large numbers had gathered to have their share of cultural treat being offered in the most innovative way through the concept of Dili Haat Utsav. Every weekend is a celebration and takes the people of this city far away to a land of entertainment and cultural delight-- Dilli Haat.
Punjabi Academy's performers (Sukhvinder's group) took the stage with their lively and energetic dance of Bhangra and Gidda, which included nearly 8 members. Male singer at the event was Sunny Singh (18 years old) and female melodious voice was given by Parveen Sharma. Institutions like Sahitya Kala Parishad, Hindi Academy, Urdu Academy, Punjabi Academy etc. are hosting cultural shows at the Dilli Haat Utsav. These shows include celebrity performances, Mushaira (Urdu Poet's Meet), musical performances, Kavi Sammelan and dance performances. The innovative initiative to make every weekend as animated and lively has also given an exclusive platform to new and seasoned artists to showcase their talent.
