New Delhi: Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister of India, today visited the Headquarters of Border Security Force, World’s largest border guarding force and the First Line of Defence of our Country. He was received by D K Pathak, IPS, Director General, Border Security Force and other senior Officers of the BSF at the BSF HQrs, CGO Complex and accorded a Ceremonial Guard of Honour.

Shri Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister of India was given a detailed presentation by Inspector General (Operations) on border management, operations, Internal security, personnel and administrations of the Force. The Home Minister was appraised about the complexities of Border Guarding duties in different terrain and demographic situations.

During the presentation/briefing, Inspector General (Operations) also deliberated upon the various achievements of the Force during this year, which included various operational success in Anti Naxal Operations, in anti smuggling activities and also in curbing transborder crimes. A detailed report on new initiatives taken in the last few months to improve the morale and working conditions of the border guard was also presented.

During the visit Shri Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Union Home Minister, appreciated the exceptional role performed by the personnel of BSF in maintaining the sanctity of the border, the initiative taken by BSF during natural calamities in protecting human lives.

Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Union Home Minister lauded the contribution of the BSF in Border duties, Internal Security duties, Anti Naxal Operations duties and reassured that the Ministry of Home Affairs will fully support all BSF proposals to make it more functionally and professionally competent force. Shri Singh also inspired the Officers and Jawans of the Force to give their best in the security of the Nation and to carry out their duties with full dedication and devotion. Shri Singh wished success to the Border Security Force and saluted the force for its bravery.
