Nagpur: Prime Minister Naarendra Modi said that the kind of response he is witnessing in rallies across the state shows huge support for the BJP. He said political pundits had been proved wrong in the recent Lok Sabha elections because they failed to assess the mood and expectations of people across India.
The Prime Minister said the forthcoming election is an election to decide the future of Maharashtra and its children. He said that on October 15th, the election would be to end 15 years of Cong-NCP misrule.He said the election results in Maharashtra would be unprecedented and the BJP would gain full majority.
He said the BJP would work towards converting "Scam Maharashtra" to "Skilled Maharashtra."
FDI in June-July 2014 (after the NDA Government assumed office) was 76% more than the corresponding period in 2013. He said he had a vision of "Housing for all with basic facilities" by 2022.
The Prime Minister said he wanted the Centre and States to work as a team, despite any political differences. He said the Prime Minister and State Chief Ministers should work together as part of "Team India."
The Prime Minister said the BJP does not believe in political untouchability. In a reference to India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, he said his 125th birth anniversary on November 14, would be celebrated by generating awareness about cleanliness and hygiene among children. From 14th to 19th November (Indira Gandhi's birth anniversary), there would be a special campaign on cleanliness and hygiene in schools across the country.
