New Delhi: Union minister of women and child development, govt of India Smt. Maneka Gandhi said that six main theme of Bal Swachchhta were taught to keep the school and Anganwadi clean, to keep clean the surroundings and playgrounds, to keep themselves clean (personal Hygenine/child Health), to keep and take clean food, clean drinking water and to keep toilets clean. She was addressing during launching of the Bal Swachchhta Mission on the occasion of celebration of Bal Diwas at Model Anganwadi cum Hub Center at Maidan Garhi in South District in New Delhi today.
The programme was organized by the Department of WCD of Delhi Government on the occasion of celebration of Bal Diwas today.
Smt. Maneka Gandhi launched the Bal Swachchhta Mission in the above said Anganwadi cum Hub centre at Maidan Garhi and sensitized children in different aspects of hygiene and safe sanitation. Six main theme of Bal Swachchhta were taught to keep the school and Anganwadi clean, to keep clean the surroundings and playgrounds, to keep themselves clean (personal Hygenine/child Health), to keep and take clean food, clean drinking water and to keep toilets clean.
The children were asked in simple words the methods of keeping themselves clean. It was a sanitation initiative for children to motivate them for keeping themselves, their homes, surroundings and school clean. By doing so they can not only contribute immensely towards improving the sanitation situation in the country but also by becoming the ambassador of cleanliness in their home and communities.
Smt. Maneka Gandhi interacted with the children, gave away gifts and sweets to them and spent a lot of time with them.
