New Delhi: Union Minister, Science & Technology Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that we are exploring the possibilities to start Tram Train in Chandni Chowk area that will ease the commutation in the area. Dr. Harshvardhan along with North Delhi Municipal Commissioner Mr. Praveen Kumar Gupta today inspected the area from Town hall (Ghanta Ghar) to Fathepuri Chowk in the Old Delhi to check the progress of renovation and redevelopment work in Chandni Chowk.
During the inspection Union Minister directed the offices of PWD department to speed up the progress of renovation and redevelopment work. He also directed the officials of PWD, Delhi Jal Board BSES and North Delhi Municipal Corporation to maintain proper coordination so that the development work do not suffer.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan and Mr. Gupta gave directions to the officials to maintain the proper level of cleanliness and sanitation during the renovation and redevelopment process. They also directed the offices to identify more places for public urinals in the area. ”The public urinals’ should be built with new innovated technique” Dr. Harsh Verdhan said.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan also informed that the Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Board was constituted for development of Chandni Chowk area but since last 10 years, no initiatives is taken, now we took the task for renovation and redevelopment work in Chandni Chowk and through coordination among civic agencies, we are gaining momentum. “I have seen the progress of renovation and redevelopment work after six months and its progress seems to be quite satisfactory” he added.
He also said that we are exploring the possibilities to start Tram Train in Chandni Chowk area that will ease the commutation in the area. “I want to make Chandni Chowk most beautiful area of the world to visit on which our nation may proud” he said.
