New Delhi: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Arvinder Singh said that BJP was trying to foment communal tension, which was clearly evident from the clashes in Trilokpuri, and the burning of a church in Seemapuri. He said such incidents have created a fear complex among the minority community, and the increasing cases of rapes happening in Delhi have made the lives of women insecure.
He said that the bond between the Congress party and the people of Poorvanchal has been very old, as the Congress party had helped the Poorvanchalis establish themselves in Delhi. Shri Arvinder Singh said this while addressing a meeting organized by the Poorvanchal Cell at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan, here today. The function was moderated by Poorvanchal leader Shri P.K.Mishra.
Shri Arvinder Singh said the BJP and the AAP party has been making false promises to the people of Poorvanchal to get their votes. But the Congress was the only party which took care of the genuine interest of the people of Poorvanchal. He said the people of Poorvanchal has pledged to extended their support to the Congress party, as they had always done in the past, as Congress was the only party which worked for the interest of the country and the society.
Arvinder Singh said the approach of the BJP and the AAP party towards the Poorvanchalis was not in the interest of the community. He said due to the wrong decisions of the AAP party, the poor people of Poorvanchal have been robbed of their livelihood in Delhi. He said people have been receiving power bills with manifold increase in the tariff, and despite the Capital experiencing severe cold, there was no letup in power cuts.
