New Delhi: Congress has said that if the power and water crises were not solved immediately, the Congress party workers would leave behind the party’s election campaigns and gherao the Delhi Secretariat to fight for the interest of the people.

Former MLA from the Jahangirpuri Assembly constituency Jitendra Bhayya Kaloo was wrapped with a party flag as he joined the Congress party. A large number of his supporters were also present on the occasion. His Municipal Councillor wife Smt. Shashi Bala and his son, advocate Karun also joined the Congress party.

Shri Arvinder Singh, Shri Haroon Yusuf and Shri Mukesh Sharma said the power and water crises had worsened in Delhi, and the people were fed up with the deteriorating situation. He said the power drunk BJP was least bothered about the plight of the people in Delhi.

The Congress leaders alleged that people were dying due to the intense cold and they cited as evidence the deaths happened due to cold near the Lal Bahadur Hospital in East Delhi. The party leaders asserted that the misrule of the BJP was responsible for the power and water crises, and people were being harassed in a bid to increase the power tariff.

He said despite the intense cold, people were thirsting for drinking water, but despite that, the people of Delhi were getting inflated power and water bills.

Mukesh Sharma said the Congress party was strengthening its hold in Delhi very fast, and the party’s election campaign was getting intensified.
