New Delhi: Chief Minister, Rajasthan Smt. Vasundhara Raje said that Co-operative Federalism in the true sense is the only way through which States can work together to achieve national goals. She was speaking at the meeting on the future of Planning Commission in New Delhi here.
Chief Minister Raje, thanked the Prime Minister and his Council for creating an enabling environment where States were being allowed to comment fearlessly on governance structures.
Smt. Raje welcomed the fact that a thought process had been initiated regarding replacing or reinventing institutions and said that the States deserved more say in planning, devolution of funds and deciding on priorities.
She said that she was a firm believer in the Constitution which provides enough opportunities for dialogue between States and dialogue between Centre and States. She emphasized that there should be a forum for amicable resolution of centre – state and interstate issues, within the framework provided by the Constitution.
In the second half of the meeting Chief Minister, Raje spoke on the reform process in Rajasthan. Chief Minister explained how and why the reform agenda was being taken up. She elaborated on how amendments in Labour Laws lead to improved ease of doing business and at the same time helps to put in placea habitat for job creation.
