A positive behavioral transformation amongst the constabulary is the need while performing duties. Hard skills are what a person acquires as technical qualifications. But what makes a person unique from the others is how he/she uses soft skills. Dr Nijhawan, Principal & Dr. Mridula Budhiraja elucidated that human life is a confluence of hard and soft skills.
It is noted that the Western Range of Delhi Traffic Police organized a Soft Skills Training Programme for the field level officials with the help of Shivaji College, Delhi Universtiy from 15thThe workshop was inaugurated by Sh. S.S Yadav, Addl. Commissioner of Police, Traffic.
The programme was conceptualized jointly by the Senior Officers of Delhi Traffic Plice alongwith Dr Shashi Nijhawan, Principal & Dr. Mridula Budhiraja, Convenor with a focus on bringing about a positive behavioral transformation amongst the constabulary while performing duties. As the Principal, Dr Nijhawan elucidated that human life is a confluence of hard and soft skills.
Hard skills are what a person acquires as technical qualifications. But what makes a person unique from the others is how he/she uses soft skills. The sessions were planned in such a way that soft skills were discussed in a very comprehensive fashion. The high point of the programme was that it was a combination of presentations as well as interactive sessions with the participants of the programme.
The days started with meditation exercises. Some meditation techniques were also covered in between sessions. The faculty and speakers were drawn from various fields of eminence who talked about issues like self-motivation, social values, objectives of police, self-realization, police-public interaction, listening skills, personal development, the purpose of life, self-analysis, police and public dialogue, self-realization, improving first impression,realizing the true self, stress-management.
A total of 50 participants took part in the programme. At the end of the programme the participants shared their experiences and desired similar programmes in future as refresher training.
