New Delhi: North Delhi Mayor Mr. Yogender Chandolia today flagged off a fleet of 10 new trucks of garbage collection at North DMC headquarters Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civic Centre. Standing Committee Chairman Mr. Mohan Prasad Bhardwaj; North Delhi Municipal Commissioner Mr. Parveen Gupta; Additional Commissioner (Engineering) Dr. Dilraj Kaur; Engineer-in-Chief (DEMS), Mr. Anil Prakash and other senior officials of other departments were also present on this occasion.

Chandolia said that the cleanliness work in North Delhi will get better with the addition of these 10 new trucks to the fleet. He informed that these trucks are ultra modern and in compliance with the new pollution control standards. He also informed that 10 more trucks will be added to the fleet by the nest week. Besides, 10 more trucks would be procured for the Horticulture Department very soon so that the garbage from parks can be collected and disposed off efficiently.

Mohan Bhardwaj said that the Corporation has decided to strength, the trucks with the better and modernized trucks. He said that the North DMC is committed to make the area cleaner and better and these new trucks would be very beneficial for that. In addition, stickers conveying message of maintaining cleanliness to citizens were also pasted on these trucks. Besides this civic awareness message stickers will be pasted on maximum vehicles to send the message to the masses.

Commissioner Mr. Praveen Gupta said that 10 more trucks would be procured next week. He said that these 20 trucks cost approximately Rs. 3.78 crore. He further informed that the new trucks has capacity of lifting 3.5 MT garbage and the new fleet would help in making the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ a success.
