New Delhi: Amid the tight security, India today celebrates its 66th Republic Day with the impressive function organized in the capital which witnesses the multiple colours of celebrations. US President Barack Obama was of course the main attraction who witnessed the world its military might and cultural diversity with a splendid display of land and naval weaponry, fighter and reconnaissance aircraft.
Although there was a minor disturbance from the side of the weather as rain tried its best to dampen the excitement but it was again US President Barack Obama’s landmark visit which keep the excitement on high.
The first U.S. president attended the annual show of military might which showcased many unique and strange power of India’s strength before the US President during the show.
Earlier the celebration started from the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate where Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying homage to the martyrs by laying a wreath.
The parade began with showering of petals by IAF helicopters, which also displayed the tricolour and flags of Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Earlier the national capital was wrapped in unprecedented security blanket for the 66th Republic Day celebrations as it was the first time when US President Barack Obama visited to take part in the celebrations. He is the first any US President to take part in such a celebration.
