New Delhi: Eminent playwright Krishna Sobti gave a lecture-demonstration as a part of the Living Legend series organized by National School of Drama in Bahumukh Auditorium, NSD Campus. Special contribution was given by Devendra Raj Ankur, former Director, NSD and Himani Shivpuri, television and film actress.
Devendra Ankur spoke a few lines about Krishna Sobti and her contribution to field of Theatre. Krishna Sobti initiated the lecture demonstration by talking about her journey of evolving as a playwright. She has been associated with theatre writing for nearly seven decades now.
This was followed by the presentation of a small clipping “Ae Ladki” a paly written by Krishna Sobti. Himani Shivpuri who is a graduate from NSD, presented an enactment from the writer’s most popular play “Mitro Marjani” where she played the role of Mitro.
Krishna Sobti believes that every word written by the writer is subjected to scrutiny. Every new script is like a test for the writer. She said, “ Love, fear, spirituality and mentality become a part of your thinking when you’re on stage.”
She was felicitated by Prof. Waman Kendre, Director, NSD.
