In
a major success, the third trial for the Talgo Train between Delhi and Mumbai,
was conducted successfully. The train completed its journey in only 11 hours
and 48 minutes.
Facts in Brief:
The
Spanish built train reached Mumbai in morning at 2:33 AM completing the journey in
11 hours and 48 minutes. The train had started from New Delhi station yesterday
at 2:45 PM.
The
Spanish built train coach consists of nine-coach including two Executive Class cars, four Chair Cars, a
cafeteria, a power car and a tail-end coach for staff and equipment.
Needless to say, Talgo trains is supposed to reduce the travel time between the two important stations to less than 12 hours.
Now a days, between New Delhi and Mumbai the superfast Rajdhani Express train takes around 16 hours. The tracks between Delhi and Mumbai is about 1,400 km.
Earlier Trial-Bareilly-Moradabad stretch in Uttar Pradesh whereas the other one was on the Palwal-Mathura section of the North-Central Railway.
