BJP has charged Delhi
chief minister Arvind Kejriwal that having failed to subvert defamation case
against the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the courts, he has now
entered into a conspiracy to defame him through the specially created
unconstitutional enquiry committee to probe DDCA affairs by making public the
proceedings of the committee.
Leader of Opposition in
the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta said that DDCA is constituted under the
Company Affairs. It is clearly a subject lying within the jurisdiction of the
Central Government. Kejriwal’s
Government being a State Government cannot intervene in the matter.
Gupta warned that
Kejriwal Government must not defame the Union Minister Jaitley through the back
door of the Committee on DDCA. He said that the BJP will never allow such
unfair and illegal practices. The Committee itself is unconstitutional because
it violates the Rule of 264 of
Legislative Assembly of NCT of Delhi, Rules of Procedure and Conduct of
Buisness .
This Committee has been
illegally working till date. Even the
today’s meeting is unauthorized and need not have been called. Having initiated the
new practice of making proceedings of the Committee public, it must now desist
from following pick and choose policy.
It must invite media for coverage in all the Committees.
Vijender Gupta said
that the 237 pages report submitted by the former senior Delhi Government IAS
officer, Chetan Sanghi neither mentions even once the name of Mr. Arun Jaitley
nor does it give even the slightest hint of his wrongdoing or involvement in
the DDCA affair. He had even complained
to the then Union Home Secretary, Rajiv Mehrishi that the senior most AAP leaders were pressurizing him to prove Mr.
Jaitley guilty in his report. It has
already exposed the mind and working of the AAP leaders.
Leader of Opposition
said that the on the one hand Bishan Singh Bedi has drawn onetime payment of
Rs. 75 lakhs and Kirti Azad of Rs. 50 lakhs from DDCA and they have been
drawing respectively Rs. 50,000/ and Rs. 37500/- P.M. from the Organization and
have functioned its selector and coach, they are now playing in the hands of
Kejriwal. They are defaming Mr. Jaitley as his tools.
